We're happy to announce that early landscaping and equipment have been completed!
Rubber surfacing for the fitness equipment area will be installed shortly as well as some site furnishings and cleanup.

We have updates! We've completed the multi-court fencing and will soon begin the early landscaping, which will include tree planting and hydro seeding.

We're excited to announce that the hardscaping of the project site has been completed. The Hydroseeding will take place in the spring of 2022. Playground, court, and fitness equipment along with the fencing will also happen at this time. Stay tuned for more updates!

Central Elgin - The Government of Canada recently announced, that they will be investing over $19.1 million in recreational and community infrastructure projects, through their Community, Culture, and Recreation Stream of the Investing in Canada plan. Along with this investment, the Government of Ontario will also be providing over $15.9 million towards these projects.
"Local and accessible recreational opportunities are so important to personal, family and community health. These investments will help thousands of residents in Ontario reconnect with themselves and each other through indoor and outdoor activities and will contribute to our health, safety and wellbeing in our communities.”- The Honourable Kinga Surma, Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure
Among the projects announced is the Eastwood Park Upgrades in Central Elgin. The Government of Canada is investing $286, 000, Ontario another $238, 310, and the Municipality will be contributing $ 190, 600 towards the project. Upgrades will include a new accessible pathway system to connect four different streets with the park and provide access to the proposed amenities in the park. Further upgrades will include a new multi-use court, pickleball courts, green gym equipment, playground equipment and a large shade structure.
