Recreational and Community Funding Grants Announced!
Central Elgin - The Government of Canada recently announced, that they will be investing over $19.1 million in recreational and community infrastructure projects, through their Community, Culture, and Recreation Stream of the Investing in Canada plan. Along with this investment, the Government of Ontario will also be providing over $15.9 million towards these projects.

These investments will help thousands of residents in Ontario reconnect with themselves and each other through indoor and outdoor activities and will contribute to our health, safety and wellbeing in our communities.”- The Honourable Kinga Surma, Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure
Among the projects announced is the Eastwood Park Upgrades in Central Elgin. The Government of Canada is investing $286, 000, Ontario another $238, 310, and the Municipality will be contributing $ 190, 600 towards the project. Upgrades will include a new accessible pathway system to connect four different streets with the park and provide access to the proposed amenities in the park. Further upgrades will include a new multi-use court, pickleball courts, green gym equipment, playground equipment and a large shade structure.
