Have you heard? A new park is coming to the Eagle Ridge subdivision on Snowy Owl Trail, near the intersection of Sunset Drive and Southdale Line in Central Elgin.
The Municipality of Central Elgin has teamed up with Doug Tarry Developments to develop a park concept that reflects the community's needs and honours the Tarry family history. This will be a brand-new space for the neighbourhood, creating important parkland and bringing a variety of activities and features to the community.
Project Overview
This new park will bring a new space to the Eagle Ridge neighbourhood. The concepts have been carefully designed to cater to children of all ages and abilities. The proposed plan includes two playground areas that offer various play features and a sports court.
Senior Playground: Designed for older children, offering a range of challenging and engaging play structures.
Junior Playground: Tailored for younger children, providing safe and fun activities that foster development and imagination.
An accessible pathway will help ensure inclusivity and ease of access for all visitors. In addition to the play areas, the design incorporates new seating overlooking the existing stormwater management pond and a shade structure, creating a welcoming and shaded environment for families and community members to enjoy.
Park concepts
Thank you to all the residents who shared their feedback on the park concepts. At the June 16 meeting, Council received the Greg Tarry Park Cost Sharing Agreement Report approved the concept for the park, and construction is set to begin later this summer.
We appreciate the community's involvement — hearing from residents helps ensure the design reflects local needs and fits well within the neighbourhood.
