Media Release: Have Your Say on the Future of Recreation and Community Services in Central Elgin

CENTRAL ELGIN, ON – The Municipality of Central Elgin is developing a Community Services Master Plan to guide the future of recreation and community services, ensuring residents can enjoy inclusive, vibrant spaces and programs that foster connection, activity, and well-being.

The Community Services Master Plan will assess existing parks, trails, recreation facilities, and programs, and identify opportunities to ensure these spaces and services remain welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for residents of all ages and abilities.

“Community services and recreation play a key role in the quality of life for Central Elgin residents,” said Mayor Andrew Sloan. “From our world-class beaches and waterfront to our parks, arenas, and trails, this plan will help ensure our recreation facilities continue to meet residents’ needs today and into the future.”

The Community Services Master Plan will help the Municipality plan and make informed decisions about future investments in recreation and trail infrastructure, ensuring capital planning and budgeting reflect the needs and priorities of the community.

The plan will consider all areas of community recreation, including parks and open spaces, trails, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, playgrounds, sports fields, beaches, harbours, and waterfronts.
